Who arranges for my hospital visit?
The date of your surgery is arranged with Tri Rhosen Day Hospital through your specialist surgeon or dentist.
If you have a pre admission form please return it, with a list of your current medications, as soon as possible. This will make your admission to the hospital smoother and more efficient.
Tri Rhosen Day Hospital staff will be pleased to answer any concerns that you may have regarding your visit. We offer a pre operative phone service so that you may discuss any of your concerns with a member of our nursing team.
What is the cost?
If you have private health insurance, your account will be forwarded, on your behalf, to the health fund.
Tri Rhosen Day Hospital advise patients to check their health insurance cover before admission. We will also do so and advise you of any excess outstanding for your surgery. You will be required to pay any gap amount not covered by your fund. This fee must be settled at or before your admission to the day hospital.
Patients who are not covered by private health insurance will be required to settle their account one week prior to admission.
Do I need to fast?
Within one week prior to your surgery one of our nursing staff will contact you with your admission and fasting times. If you have not been contacted by the day before your scheduled admission please contact us on 3282 8800.
Should I take my medications?
This depends on what medications you are currently taking and the pre admission nurse will advise you on this before your day of surgery.
What do I bring?
You must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will be able to drive you home after the procedure and stay with you on the first post operative night.
You must also bring with you any x-rays if applicable.
Please also shower before your arrival, and remove all make up, jewellery and nail polish. It is advisable to wear clean, front opening comfortable clothing as it will make your discharge and journey home easier.
What about parking?
You may use the designated pick up and set down bays immediately in front of the hospital entrance during your arrival and departure. However, for parking longer than 10 minutes, any other parking bay within the centre can be used.
